Magic Island (Ala Moana)
The Magic Island ride features beautiful views of Diamond Head and Waikiki, shopping opportunities, and easy exploring of the Waikiki Waterfront. You’ll ride along the Ala Wai Canal before heading down Ala Moana Blvd where you can enjoy the bike and walking paths at Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island or enjoy an afternoon of shopping at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. The return trip takes you through the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Waikiki landmarks like the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and the Duke Kahanamoku statue.
DIRECTIONS:
- Turn right onto Paoakalani Ave. towards the Ala Wai Canal
- Turn left onto Ala Wai blvd and ride in the bike lane along the canal
- Turn left onto Niu St. and merge into the far right lane as Niu meets Ala Moana Blvd.
- Turn right onto Ala Moana Blvd.
- Turn left into Ala Moana Beach Park at Atkinson Dr.
- Turn into the first parking lot on the left for Magic Island
- (Feel free to ride along the paths on Magic Island and the rest of Ala Moana Beach Park, just be courteous of pedestrians. If you’re in the mood for shopping, the Ala Moana Shopping Center is right across the street and there is ample bike parking.)
- Turn right out of Ala Moana Beach Park onto Ala Moana Blvd to head back into Waikiki
- Turn right onto Holomoana St. to ride along the Ala Wai Boat Harbor towards the Hilton Lagoon
- Turn into the Hilton Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and ride along Waikiki Beach behind Fort DeRussy
- Turn left onto the footpath next to the US Army Museum and continue onto Saratoga Rd.
- Turn Right onto Kalakaua Ave.
- Turn Left onto Kapahulu Ave.
- Turn Left onto Lemon Rd. to return to the shop
